Harvard Art Museums

This installation accompanies a seminar on the intersection of photography and social history in the United States from 1945 to 1989. The course, taught by Robin Kelsey, Shirley Carter Burden Professor of Photography, considers in particular the practices of such artists as Diane Arbus, Roy DeCarava, Robert Frank, and Garry Winogrand.

The installation is made possible by funding from the Gurel Student Exhibition Fund.

Teaching Gallery installations are mounted in conjunction with Harvard University undergraduate courses and feature selected objects from the Harvard Art Museums’ collections.
