A bold granite sign identifying the Harvard Art Museums now graces the Quincy Street entrance of the new facility, which opens to the public on November 16. Through the use of the museums’ logo that incorporates our three constituent museums, the sign further highlights the creation of one location for the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger, and Arthur M. Sackler Museums, all finally gathered in one state-of-the-art facility and housed under one roof.
Harvard Art Museums’ creative director, Steven Waldron, has been working with the firm responsible for the interior and exterior signage for the building, Roll Barresi & Associates, to ensure consistency is met throughout. “Having the new sign installed is definitely a milestone moment,” said Waldron. “It helps people know that the Harvard Art Museums are opening, which in turn helps galvanize the project and the community. It’s very symbolic, and it’s great to see it completed.”
