This aerial view of the new Harvard Art Museums leaves you no doubt that our renovation and expansion project is nearly complete. In it you can see the harmonious union of old and new: the original 1927 building to the right; the new Renzo Piano addition with the Alaskan Yellow Cedar siding to the left; and, most impressive of all, the glass roof, which bridges the two and serves in the interior as Piano’s “Light Machine.”
We’ve also included a close-up of the wood siding on the Prescott Street facade. Learn more about how the green firm Mark Richey Woodworking transformed the trees to siding and how the wood will age here.
