Poetry Pop Walk
Special Event
Harvard Art Museums32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA
Registration is closed. This event is at capacity.
In conjunction with our special exhibition Corita Kent and the Language of Pop (September 3, 2015–January 3, 2016), poet Eileen Myles will lead a group walking tour. Participants will first view and discuss the exhibition, after which they will take a “pop walk” in the immediate vicinity of the museums, gathering with cameras and notebooks contemporary examples of the everyday fact of pop art. The group will return to the museums, write a collective poem, and read it at the entrance to the museums. The reading will be open to the public.
Please meet in the Calderwood Courtyard, near the digital screens between the shop and the admissions desk.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Please email am_visitorservices@harvard.edu or stop by the admissions desk to register. Space is limited to 15 participants. All children 12 or under should be accompanied by an adult.
This event is cosponsored by the Harvard College Library’s Woodberry Poetry Room.
Corita Kent and the Language of Pop is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and major corporate support from National Grid.
