Music from Montepulciano: Celebrating the Calderwood Courtyard

The Harvard Art Museums’ famous Calderwood Courtyard is nearly an exact replica of the facade of the 16th-century canon’s house at the church of San Biagio in Montepulciano, Italy. In honor of the 500th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of that church, the Harvard Art Museums will live-stream a concert of Renaissance music directly from this beautiful Italian hill town to our own courtyard.
Remarks by A. Cassandra Albinson, the Margaret S. Winthrop Curator of European Art in the Division of European and American Art, will begin at 2:45pm, followed by the concert at 3pm.
Free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The live stream of the concert will take place in the Calderwood Courtyard.
This concert is one of the many events this year commemorating the 500th anniversary of the canon’s house of the Church of San Biagio in Montepulciano, Italy, on which our Calderwood Courtyard was modeled.
