Index Is an Award Winner

July 17, 2014

Congratulations to us! Just shy of our first birthday, the Harvard Art Museums’ magazine Index has been recognized by the American Alliance of Museums in its annual awards for the graphic design of museum publications.

Index received honorable mention in the magazine category of the design competition, the only national, juried competition of its kind. Winners, representing a variety of museum publications from diverse institutions, are chosen for their overall design excellence, creativity, and ability to express a museum’s personality, mission, or special features.

Launched in September 2013, Index provides a dynamic and interactive space for readers to discover a broad range of content and media produced by staff at the Harvard Art Museums as well as carefully chosen news from other arts-related venues around the world. Index includes multimedia components that put visitors behind the scenes at the museums—including a first look at the installation of our galleries as we enter the final stages of the museums’ renovation and expansion project.
