Susanne Ebbinghaus is responsible for the collection of ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern art and general curatorial matters concerning the Division of Asian and Mediterranean Art. She is especially interested in the material culture of feasting and in cross-cultural exchanges between Greece and the Near East. In 2007, she organized Gods in Color: Painted Sculpture of Classical Antiquity, and she is currently preparing the Fall 2018 exhibition Animal-Shaped Vessels from the Ancient World: Feasting with Gods, Heroes, and Kings.
