"A Woman Carrying Her Baby in Her Shawl (David Alfaro Siqueiros) , 2008.314.10,” Harvard Art Museums collections online, Nov 02, 2024, https://hvrd.art/o/54222.
Simplified, semi abstract shapes in black, printed on orange paper depict a stylized figure of a woman standing in the corner of a bare room. She stands facing us, wearing a long dress. She carries a small child at her side, swaddled in a large shawl which is wraps around her front and her shoulders. The child’s head is just visible, peeking out just below the woman’s, though neither of their faces are rendered with details such as eyes or mouths. Grainy black shapes behind them indicate the bare walls and floor.
