"A Hammer Resting on an Anvil in a Tile-Floored Room (David Alfaro Siqueiros) , 2008.314.6,” Harvard Art Museums collections online, Dec 22, 2024, https://hvrd.art/o/54186.
Simplified, semi abstract shapes in black, printed on orange paper depict an anvil on a stand at center, in the extreme foreground. A large sledge hammer lies across it, its square head pointed away from us toward the upper right. A grid of squares that gets narrower at the top indicates the tile floor, receding behind the anvil. Although walls in the room are not rendered, they are implied by windows, one at left and one at right.
