A Japanese house on low pillars nestled in the distance sits on the water as two men in a boat come close to its entrance where another person leans forward toward them. Another man in a simple sailboat approaches land facing left. A few other small boats are nestled in where land meets water. A cluster of old weeping cherry trees bloom in lower left bottom at land’s edge. Gentle lines suggest a body of water flowing from the right. Ink wash defines the shape of the hills in the distance. The vast negative space is rendered in gold leaf.
