Technical Details

Technical Observations: The patina is green with areas of blue. Brown burial accretions are present in some areas. Some pitting and small losses have occurred, but the surface is fairly well preserved. The ring is not uniform in thickness or shape. The general shape was probably formed by casting and finished by hammering.

Published Catalogue Text: Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Bronzes at the Harvard Art Museums
This simple ring is rounded on the exterior and flat on the interior. It was probably a decorative element, like the small ring attached to 1987.135.30 (1), rather than a finger ring.
