Head and shoulder portrait of fair skinned man, his face in three-quarter view as he looks towards left of center.

The clean-shaven middle-aged man is Carlo Goldoni and dressed in eighteenth century attire of a jacket with ruffled white collar underneath, a darker robe or coat is placed partially over his right shoulder. His mouth is closed, he has a slight cleft to his chin. His grey-white hair is puffy and curly and neat around his head, a ponytail in the back tied with a dark ribbon. The background is undescribed with a gradation of lights and darks.
