The scene has an overall muted brown tone and depicts several individuals, visible from head to toe, examining artworks in an outdoor stall. The brush strokes are suggestive, with some definition. Below a narrow black canopy is a light skinned woman in a black and white bonnet, and to her left is a light skinned man wearing a black top hat and long coat. His face is visible in profile as he looks at a panel of several artworks. Standing in front of them are two children. Toward the back right, a figure is clad in muted red.
