Descriptions
- Description
-
Wooden box with three trays, containing a set of 70 plaster casts of carved gems. A booklet listing the original work for each cast accompanies the set. The cover is handwritten in black ink: Catalogo; the first page is inscribed: Catalogo di 70 Impronte in Stucco scelte dalla Collezione di Pietro Paoletti contenenti 5000, e piu Soggetti. These casts would all have been made by 1835, the date of the letter accompanying the set; the box was sent from Italy to the United States in that year.
