2009.11.7: Hunger, from the portfolio "Hunger"
PrintsAt center, a woman sits on the steps of a building. With a cloak around her shoulders, the front of her dress is open as an infant suckles at her breast. The woman nods forward slightly as she stares away to the right. At left, a small girl in a dress with her back to us holds her thin arms by her side. Next to her and the woman, an older boy stands against the wall of the building, looking at the viewer with sunken eyes. His bony arms and legs and gaunt face show him wasting away from hunger.
