2009.11.4: Bread!, from the portfolio "Hunger"
PrintsDark shaded lines show a cluster of three figures against a blank background. A woman whose back is turned away from us appears to hold her bowed head in her hand. A small child at her right grabs at her apron string with one hand and bites into something the woman holds out in her hand. At her left another small child clutches at her dress and looks up at the woman with a desperate expression. Below the figures, across the bottom margin is the hand written word “brot!”.
