Descriptions

Commentary

The inscriptions refer to colors and to the location of the sketches: La Bocca and Juan-les-Pins, villages close to Cannes on the French Riviera, at the foot of the Estérel Mountains.
The washed drawing is related to the painting "Fishers at the Mediterranean Coast" (Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo, The Netherlands; inv.nr. 72-19).
