Descriptions

Description
Buff fabric with lustrous black glaze. High ring base. Trumpet-like spout set on narrow, vertically striped neck. Strap handle attached at top of neck and just below shoulder. Rounded shoulder decorated with small palmettes. Larger and more elaborate palmettes beneath handle. On body of vessel, Eros is seated on a blossom cup amidst fantastically rendered florals. Details of the scene are in added white and yellow. A narrow maeander pattern runs around the body below the scene. Reconstructed from several fragments.
