Descriptions Description This wallhanging is pieced from two different ikat fabrics, both from the same early period, and having similar design elements and similar colors. In one ikat type, the stylized floral figures are enclosed within attenuated diamond forms, in the other ikat pattern, more rounded floral forms are enclosed within white ovals of faceted geometric forms. The effect is somewhat patchworked, but also extremely playful. Exhibition History Re-View: S231 (Islamic rotation: 1) Color in the Oasis, Harvard Art Museums/Arthur M.
