2018.33.62.10: Fear, Panic, Defeat, and Surrender
PrintsRendered in black ink with textured shading, a group of soldiers harasses a group of other figures. In the foreground at lower right, a figure with a grimacing face looks at us, while several figures behind him stagger toward us, ordered on from behind by two military officers, one wielding a baton. At upper center and left, a group of soldiers with rifles on their backs, hurriedly marches away to the left, pushing bicycles and carting away indistinct boxes and parcels. The ground at lower left and the background at top are shaded with partly wiped away streaks of black.
