2018.33.62.7: Tormenting, Humiliating, and Barbering the Jews
PrintsAgainst a blank background, figures are rendered in washes of black ink and textured shading. At center and left, two bearded men stand with fists clenched at their sides, as military officers with scissors cut locks of hair from the sides of their heads. In the foreground at center, another man with a six pointed star on his lapel stands looking at us, as another soldier cuts his hair. At lower left, an officer holds a riding crop to the neck of an elderly woman, while at lower right, another hand appears, pulling the hair of a man wearing a skull cap. At upper right, streaks of black ink almost obscure the number seven.
