Soldiers on horseback chasing and trampling a group of figures

Rendered in dark washes of ink and textured shading, two soldiers on horseback are depicted harassing a group of figures in a bleak yard under black clouds. At center, a helmeted soldier with one arm raised is seen in profile atop a horse charging to the left. An elderly man in an overcoat has fallen to his knees as the horse tramples over him, and two half naked women behind him turn to run away. In the extreme foreground at right, two men lunge toward us, scrambling to escape a second horseman who chases just behind them. The number six appears at upper right.
