The fragment has a partial turn edge with thick paint buildup and a partial tacking margin with staple holes. The painted area is layered with orange under transparent dark red. The turn edge is oriented diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. There is dirt embedded in the thick paint build-up at the turn edge, suggesting that it was stretched and pressed up against something as it dried.
