Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with irregular knife cut edges and a partial white ground layer. The area of white ground has a taped edge. Red paint is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave in two areas. One area is applied over the white ground layer and the other is applied directly to the raw canvas. Both areas have a dry brush edge.
