Descriptions Description Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a white ground layer. The fragment has a partial turn edge and tacking margin with staple holes. The white ground extends over the margin and is partially covered with dark red paint extending to the turn edge. The red paint is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave and the fragment's cut edges are also diagonal with respect to the canvas weave.
