Technical Observations: Both pendants have grayish-green surfaces, with green corrosion and a tan, waxy coating that has been worn to a reddish-brown layer. Some black copper-sulfide crystals have formed on the surface as a result of storage environment. Both pieces are heavily mineralized, but 137.1972.B is a bit more mineralized than 137.1972.A, and it has cracked in several areas. A metallic sheen is visible in several areas on 137.1972.B.
Both pendants were solid cast in one piece by the lost-wax process. The facial elements and the loops were fashioned in the wax. The diagonal incisions on the boots were also made in the wax. Some chisel or scraper marks are visible in the ring attachment of 137.1972.B.
