A small crowd of figures all stare facing the viewer with a lake and hills in the background.

Heavy black lines on cream colored paper depict a group of figures advancing into the foreground from middle right. Except for the white bonnets of two women in the front, the figures are each dressed in all black coats, and dresses and top hats. They all stare wide-eyed, straight ahead at the viewer. In the distance a lake with small boats can be seen. Bold rhythmic lines trace the shoreline and the surrounding hills, and these lines are echoed in the sky above by long flowing lines in red denoting clouds.
