-
Wilhelmus Josephus Rudolphus van Dreesman (d. 1954), Amsterdam, by 1926 until at least 1945. [1] [2] Dr. Anton C. R. Dreesman (d. 2000), [3] sold [through Christie's, Amsterdam, April 2002, lot 556]. [Richard Green, London, circa 2002]. [Johnny van Haeften, London, 2004-2006], sold; to Peter and Anne Brooke, 2006, by descent; to Samuel R. Brooke, Peter W. Brooke and John F. Brooke, 2020, gift; to Harvard Art Museums, 2021
Notes
[1] 1926 exhibition catalogue lists Dreesman as the owner and the 1945 publication "De Schilders van het Monochrome Banketje" lists Dreesman as the owner.
[2] It is possible that the painting was sold through Mak Van Waay, Amsterdam, on May 1, 1974 as lot 71. However, we have not been able to confirm the work is this version.
[3] Dr. Anton C. R. Dreesman is the grandson of Wilhelmus Josephus Rudolphus van Dreesman.
