2012.74: In the Ashes
PrintsIn the foreground of this print, a light-skinned woman sits in a hunched over position, leaning her crossed arms over on the tops of her knees. She wears a simple long-sleeved blouse with a long skirt and an apron. She is illuminated by a light source from below and to the right, perhaps a fire as suggested by the swirling pattern of its highlights. In the background, printed in much lighter strokes, a woman stands facing away from the viewer. She leans her right arm against a doorway.
