2011.8.2: Anthrax
PhotographsThe color photograph shows a range of hills covered with grass, with several stands of trees spread out across the tops and side of the hills in the background. The grass appears washed in a light color in patches. The word “Anthrax” is written across the base of a hill in the center foreground. The sky which fills the upper two-thirds of the picture plane is darkest blue in the right and fades to a light gray where the hills on the left meet the sky. The words “Branded Mountain (1969)/10’ x 60’/Burnt Grass/Hillside Near Martinez, California” are printed underneath the photograph.
