2010.538.5: Reflections: Night - New York
PhotographsA black-and-white photograph portrays an empty plaza at night, illuminated by streetlamps after a rainstorm. The plaza is paved, except for a circular island of greenery and brush in the middle. The island is surrounded by a low fence. Silhouettes of bare trees border the plaza closest to the viewer. Streetlamps surround the far perimeter of the plaza. An apartment style building stands in the distance beyond the park. Select rooms have slivers of light peeking through the thick curtains. The atmosphere looks hazy, as if a rainstorm just passed and the pavement is glistening and wet.
