The painting shows a dog facing right with a man’s head, the man is wearing glasses, is bald, and is facing three-quarters to the front. The dog’s right paw is slightly raised, he is standing within a space defined by a split rail fence which begins in the upper left and moves across the picture plane to the right side. The work is painted on the pages of an illustrated book that have been attached in a grid to cover the surface of the canvas, the illustrations are randomly spaced. The words P.W. Botha are painted in capital letters in the lower right corner.
