Portrait of a woman seated in a chair in a rectangular daguerreotype frame.

A woman rests an arm on a table on the left with her hands resting in her lap. She wears a plain buttoned up dress, white sleeves underneath, with lace collar. Her straight hair is parted in the middle, tucked behind a white lace bonnet. Her face appears content, almost smiling, light eyes, facing forward looking at the viewer, her body is turned three-quarter toward the left in the chair. Her cheeks are delicately hand-colored. She also wears dark lace fingerless gloves and a black string around her neck, that she’s holding in her lap. The background is undescribed.
