Descriptions Description This large, square format, black and white photograph depicts a low bed lying horizontally at close range in the foreground of the composition and a group of figures behind it to the left, framed by the boundaries of a display window. This photograph was taken inside Indira Gandhi's bedroom at Anand Bhavan, Nehru's family house in Allahabad. During a visit to the Fogg Museum in Fall, 2006, Singh described the moment that the photograph captures. Nehru's home is now a house museum and Singh had special access to work inside this room, which functioned as a display. The photograph was an unplanned surprise, she took the photo just as the visitors walk up to the window, both she and they were startled, and then they left as quickly as they came.
