Provenance

Recorded Ownership History
Fredric Wertham, bequest; to Florence Hesketh Wertham, 1981, gift; to Harvard University Art Museums, 1987.

NOTE: It is unclear how and when the drawings came into Mr. Wertham's possession; per the Wertham Collection catalogue (Harvard University, 1990), "It is not known precisely when the drawings came into Dr. Wertham's possession; however, it is likely that they were acquired when he was called in by the Phipps Clinic [at Johns Hopkins, where Fitzgerald was a patient] as a special consultant on her case.
