The black and white photograph shows a man in a suit and hat lying on his left side on a newspaper spread out on a sidewalk. His head is resting on his outstretched left arm, his right arm is bent, the hand resting on the newspaper. Behind him are the bars of iron fence though which small bushes are visible and an open grassy space in the background.
