Technical Observations: The patina is black with light brown surface soiling in crevices. The object is a solid cast made by the lost-wax process. There is no evidence as to whether or not a mold was used to form the general shape of the wax model. There are thin decorative incisions for the clothing, dagger, ankles, hands, and hat. The incisions are continuous, fluid lines that would have been made in the soft wax model. The funnel-shaped base is the remains of the pouring channel for the molten metal.
