1943.635: Initial Letter V (Pan); verso: Initial Letters
DrawingsIn this graphite drawing with ink outlines, a large letter V in a serif font is front and center. Behind the V is a statue of the Greek god Pan, with goat’s ears and horns protruding from curled locks of hair. His armless, muscled torso and smiling face point towards the viewer. The statue sits atop a square pedestal and a wreath filled with fruits.
