The drawing in graphite and white chalk on tan paper depicts a man cropped beneath the thighs, standing in three quarters facing right, his gaze directed to the viewer. He has curled hair and wears a white shirt with a tall collar under a double-breasted tailcoat. His left hand is tucked into the front of his coat, holding a pocket watch or badge. His left hand is before him. There is written script in the bottom left of the page.
