Descriptions Description Sketchbook with tan cloth covers, remains of cloth ties. 14 pages; the remaining pages are are in uncut drawing block. A number of pages were removed before the sketchbook was acquired by the Fogg. Pages of heavy cream wove paper, measuring 272 x 181 mm. Drawings are in graphite. All are signed with the artist's initials and many are inscribed by the artist's son Philip. Commentary Studies for the "Perseus" series (begun 1875), "The Passing of Venus," "The Wheel of Fortune," (1875-83), "The Car of Love," (begun 1870), and the St. Catherine Window, Christ Church, Oxford (1878).
