1950.126: At the Moulin Rouge: Carnival, Entrance of Cha-U-Kao (Au Moulin Rouge: Carnaval, Entrée du Cha-U-Kao)
DrawingsLines sketched in blue on a white background show a scene of a woman in a harlequin costume astride a donkey, leading a marching band. The group of figures are all shown in three quarter profile, facing toward us and turning toward the left. At lower left, the head of the donkey approaches, looking forward and past the viewer. The woman wears a suit with dark pantaloons and a frilly collar and shoulders, and on her head a feathered headdress. Marching behind and around her, we see uniformed band members following.
