Inscriptions and Marks inscription: frame, verso: De Caylus / petit neveu de Mme de Maintenon / Anne-Claude-Philippe de Tubière, / comte de Caylus, naquit à Paris en 1692 / et y mourut en 1765. Il commença / par servir, mais, après la Paix de Rastadt / faite en 1714, il fit un voyage en Italie, puis / passa dans le Levant, vit le fameux temple / de Diane à Ephèse etc.... Il s'est rendu très / reccomandable aux arts et aux sciences. / Il le vois très souvent chez Mme Geoffrin qui a écrit ce que précède.
