Amethyst; intaglio. Flat front and back faces. A Classicizing bust of Hermes in profile, faces to the left. His facial features are well-indicated with a slightly protruding nose, round eye, and heavy brow. His short hair is rendered with repeating incisions and he wears his characteristic petasos (flat hat). Behind his head, a caduceus is incised.
