Descriptions

Description
Reproduction of a gold ornamental disc with three concentric circles along the border and with decorative spirals and concentric circles within the border. The original was found in Grave Circle A at Mycenae. Similar to object number 1901.18.
Commentary
The actual function of the discs is unclear. They were found under, above, and around the bodies in the burial. Schliemann believed these discs represented miniature copies of shields.
