A terracotta pitcher with a polished black surface and decorative handle

This vase has a pear-shaped body on a flat circular base, narrow ridges at the base of its wide, short neck, and a wide rim that flares out around the circular opening at the top. Its narrow handle curves outward from one side of the top and rejoins the body at middle height. The line of the handle continues as a raised serpentine form that trails down the side of the body. The top of the handle ends at the opening in a bulbous decoration, possibly in the form of a human head. Another face can be seen, in profile protruding below the base of the handle.
