- Description

In the interior tondo, a simply rendered youth runs to the right holding a wine skin.
On one side, the figure of a bearded Dionysos seated on a rock holding a drinking horn appears three times accompanied by two satyrs. All face right, except for the rightmost Dionysos, whose body faces right but his head is turned back over his shoulder. In the center, a woman, possibly Dionysos’ consort Ariadne, whose face is done in faded white paint, sits on a stool facing left. Except for the satyrs, all figures’ clothing is decorated with white dots. The background is decorated with vines.
On the other side, a Dionysiac parade proceeds to the right. Two satyrs riding donkeys frame the scene on either side. In the center, Dionysos rides a donkey and turns his head over his shoulder. He is accompanied on either side by running satyrs, arms lifted into the air either as greeting or in dance. The background is decorated with vines.
