1965.469: Arm of the Statue of a Striding Man
SculptureThis dark, glossy wood object is part of a larger sculpture of a striding man, but all that is here is his right arm. The arm is straight and stiff, with the hand clenched. There is a hole made by the fingers and thumb that imply a possible addition of an object to be held. The sculptor was able to model a sense of musculature particularly in the shoulder and forearm, and the thumbnail is indicated by incised lines.
