Large sharply defined oval eyes. Right eye slants downward toward right side of face assymetrically. Prominent pursed lips placed high up under prominent nose. Two ink letters W E on concave back of figure. Commentary The color of the clay and use of white slip suggests that this may be an Athenian product. The polos indicates that a goddess is represented -- perhaps Hera or Demeter. This could be either from a standing or seated statuette.
