G5715: Old Westminster Bridge
PrintsWe see a distant stone bridge over a body of water. The bridge’s supports form many arches underneath it. Boats float behind the bridge and in the broad expanse of water before it. At the left end of the bridge is a large stone structure with pointed towers and parapets, plus more buildings and trees. The buildings on the right side of the bridge are less shaded and detailed. In the right foreground are more boats as well as two figures who appear to be riding horses in the water. Whistler’s signature appears in the bottom left corner.
