  • inscription: On the recto of the front flyleaf of the book, there is a lengthy ink inscription in English describing works by Dürer in Nurmberg and elsewhere; this is legible in the photograph. There is also a graphite inscription, not legible in the photograph, that is transcribed here. This graphite inscription is followed by numbers of plates, presumably.: The numbering of the plates is that of the 1796 edition.
